Opinion: The greatest innovation introduced by blockchain
- rvz 4y agoNonsense. > Blockchains have shown us that not only is it not required to own and manage servers, but that we do not even need to manage them. You mean that Ethereum, Solana, and the many other PoS blockchains running on AWS, GCP, Hetzner, Azure servers, etc? > server: your code on servers you own, possibly in your own data centers If the majority of Ethereum, Solana and Cardano is run on someone else's data center such as AWS, GCP, Azure, why would you expect them to self-host and build their own data centers without using someone else's servers?

- bosky101 4y agoSomeone surely need to maintain these machines, but the application doesn’t have to. The point is that these networks can be run by anyone, without the org(uniswap labs/EF) or dapps needing infra of their own if they redesigned to rely on zkp, oracles or chain data. And as long that number of random validates/miners doesn’t stoop too low - it means there exists enough incentives for these random players to continue doing so.
