I love all of the conservative anti-230 agitprop.
I hope they get what they want. For some reason they think if they get it repealed then social media sites will stop removing their bigoted, race-baiting, and/or deliberately misleading posts.
The opposite will happen. Social media sites will clamp down so hard on their Q, January 6th, "so-and-so is a crackhead and/or pedophile", and ivermectin posts that spreading their messages will become impossible.
Can you imagine the liability Facebook would face if every post claiming that "Patriot's Pride colloidal silver endorsed by Alex Jones himself ON SALE now at realmuricanscuringcovid.com" opened them to litigation when some schmuck OD's on it?
Or if every time someone claimed that Fauci had kids locked up in his basement rape dungeon, Twitter could be sued?
I know that conservatives are only using this as an empty threat to apply pressure to corporations, but Internet giants care more about ad revenue than the small minority of crazy-assed weirdos who think they have free speech rights on some other person's property. And they don't want to pay for more lawyers than they have to.
They will terminate with extreme prejudice any content, like antivaxxer bullshit or racism, that threatens ad revenue and will smash with Thor's hammer any content pizza gate or the q bullshit that opens them to litigation.
Like I said, I love it and hope they get what they want.
Maybe, in my dreamland where ALL Sandy Hook (and the rest) denialism and harassment gets the shit sued out of you, peace will reign.
