Our preschool is composed of 3 year old kids who never played with anybody outside their family. Many haven’t seen a single strangers face for years. Many have serious behavioral issues and speech issues. Saying “kids are gonna be okay” is such a line of bull. Even if all that crap we subjected them to worked, that still doesn’t make what we did to them okay. We stole significant chunks of their one and only childhood away from them for a disease that they aren’t even close to being at risk from. We absolutely fucked our kids and it is perhaps one of the saddest most shameful outcomes of societies myopic fixation on Covid.
