This first half of the article made some sense. why are people quit quitting are your company. But, then it goes on to talk about ways to improve performance for gaps in performance. That's not quite quitting. quite quitting is not below average performing employees by definition.
It also suggest things like "good job", "I appreciate you", "here you can work on this extra project for free in your off hours" as ways to engage employees.
To me quit quitting can be summed up in 4 words. SHOW ME THE MONEY.
People are tired of Work for free and put on a happy face too.
quite quitting is giving management and executives the same worthless lip service that they give employees.
- sharemywin 4y agoAnd startup culture is part of the problem too. IF everything works out: Founders - work for below average pay for 80+ hours week for 7 years straight - reward $1B+ 1st 10 Employees - work for below average pay for 80+ hours week for 6-7 years straight - reward $10M+ 11+ Employee - work for below average pay for 80+ hours week for 5-7 years straight - reward get the salary you would have gotten back after working at market pay + a lot of "your the mans" along the way - 10K hours(of unpaid work). The problem is too much of the economy is based on people making bad economic decisions for themselves.
- lamontcg 4y agoIf everything doesn't work out the founders probably get $2M-10M for selling off the company for parts and everyone else would have been WAY better off leetcoding to get a FAANG job.
- quantified 4y agoFar more reasonable than I expected from Fox. In the second half, the choice between better work-life balance and mental health benefits is laughable. The former means either "work your 11-hour day at convnenient hours" or going along with the spending less time at work. The mental health benefit is awful. I know someone who was told to just take medicine to counteract the health problems cauzed by their job. This is the same. Hey, your job burns you out, so have a teleheath providers talk to you about it. Ouch. Like Marx, good at descriibing problems and poor at the solutions.
