I’m all for this. My compensation is very performance based and the highest performers get the biggest payout. When people do this is makes it much easier for me to get a bigger chunk of their bonus. It’s cynical, but it’s honest.

Then you, and your company, are exceptions. This is how it should be everywhere. It’s not. Thus, work to rule and nothing more.
