Rust is actually good at parallelization. Good examples include ripgrep (multithreaded grep) and Stylo (multithreaded CSS selector matching), both are state of the art in their fields.
I agree with you that Rust is not best at implementing data structures and dynamic language runtimes and async networking. But Rust is good at parallelization.
- cmrdporcupine 4y agoRust is good at all those things. Just not using the reference/ownership patterns that people are used to. There's a lot of mental overhead in managing lifetimes that becomes quite taxing if you start the wrong way.
