I guess the two could compliment each other if the automated cars were more like taxis, and their main purpose was to move people to and from train stations. T

I guess the two could compliment each other if the automated cars were more like taxis, and their main purpose was to move people to and from train stations. That's the biggest problem I can see with train travel in the US... the country is too spread out so you need some sort of flexible integrated travel to support the trains.
