All that said, I think one of the issues is that the idea of a full self-driving vehicle is put front and center. It's a double-edged sword because working towards that goal may be admirable but thinking it's attainable is foolhardy. I see automation as certainly being helpful to drive down the costs of transportation. But, IMHO it should be understood that we'll never be able to remove human judgement completely.
