- LegitShady 4y agoAnyone who believes this is either corrupt or a fool. AI, like the current algorithms in use by various companies, will be used by powerful corporations against individuals without any means to fight against it, enabled by captured regulators who themselves don't care about regular people. Tyler Cowen championing that ai won't take the job of a gardener or manual labourer, but will 'create' jobs in retraining is completely skipping the whole 'retraining because many many jobs will cease to exist'. I can only hope this guy had a deadline and needed his $75 for an opinion piece, and thats why this dreck was published by bloomberg. If someone actually believes this nonsense they are outright ignoring the effect of these technological regimes on individual's choices and freedoms today.
- gsatic 4y agoNot to mention the same "retraining" salesmen after completing their pitch on stage, abt the lovely path to the future, will say we realize this is adding new stresses on the work force and mental health is a major spiralling issue. There is no beautiful path to the future if every other person is loosing their mind. It in fact creates many new problems at scales we have never seen before. Bloomberg already thinks and speaks and acts like micro cogs of the mega machine they have no control over. You want to know what the machine is thinking read Bloomberg.
