That is a good point. I have not seen any low level positions that require a masters degree. I've only seen some that express a preference. At the same time though, many of those positions don't even seem to require a degree at all. I suppose my problem is I have vaguely seen software engineers reference the utility of a masters degree, but I can't say I've seen good evidence for their utility. Additionally, a number of those people probably moved onto non engineer roles. I will follow up on the different master's programs. Thank you very much for your help! The perspective is very useful.
