Coincidentally, she got me into computing and a roundabout fashion. My high school was across the street from the college whose computing program she ran, and the NSF grant she received that dropped 20+ Apple II+s across campus happened to put one into an alcove of the library. For some reason this system was almost never used and the librarians didn't seem to mind a high school freshman hanging around for a winter and most of the following spring playing Choplifter and writing Applesoft basic programs (mostly copied out of a dog-eared copy of the Giant Book of Computer Games or Nibble magazine.) Unfortunately the building housing the library burnt down my sophomore year, but by then I had moved on to an IBM PC-XT and the joy of shareware compilers ordered through the mail...
