Well there is a need for AI regulation. I don't think this draft is particularly helpful but there are some many areas where AI touches our personal freedom & privacy (clearview, deep-fakes), safety (full self driving cars - tesla lol), and overall societal health/discourse (social networks, content suggestion).
Who else besides goverment bodies should regulate it?
Companies? They are the reason we need the regulations in the first place.
- actually_a_dog 4y agoExactly. It's so predictable that the top comment is complaining about regulation on this site. But what's the alternative? "The free market regulates itself?" No thanks, that's how we got in this mess.
- junofan 4y agoTypically safe harbor + legislating around real problems encountered therein.
- actually_a_dog 4y agoThat doesn't work when the domain is mostly problems. I'd rather not build in the loopholes companies will be exploiting on the first drafts.
