  Firefox and chrome will both open the PDF by default unless you tell it to use your own reader. Both gnome and KDE come with a capable reader better than your browser. If you don't like those there are several options. Reading a pdf under Linux is super easy.

  if you want "everything in the world" to not be "so hard" you'd probably avoid Linux.
