I used to have a friend (we moved countries so we don’t talk as much) and she was just a natural. Whether it was just making conversation, defusing tension or suggesting we could do work, it just rolled of the tongue. I tried to learn from it, but some are just naturals at it and I will never have that same level of ease and charm. I echo what you say about maintaining friendships, having two people invested in a friendship is the best thing.
