Should I pick DigitalOcean or AWS for my next project? (2019)
- strzibny 4y agoAs an indie maker and author of Deployment from Scratch, I completely avoid AWS despite me using it in most professional endeavours. The reasons are simple and basically stated in the article, but I would add that you don't want to end up with a bill you cannot pay.
- tyingq 4y agoThe author is being much too kind to AWS Lightsail. That product is wholly useless, with a not-well-explained VERY aggressive throttling mechanism. 100% for a little while, then aggressively capped down to 5% over a short time period.
- porknubbins 4y agoWhen I deploy my individual sites I always allocate a day to mess with AWS settings, which I can handle, but the real problem is when things need to be changed I dread trying to remember how do to everything.
