To your last point, I don't see how creating a distributed lobby organization isn't innovative. Washington lobbying is dominated by insiders with special access. This would break out of that dynamic. Could you explain why you don't find it innovative?
- thesuperbigfrog 4y agoYou are correct. Using a DAO / Web3 stuff for lobbying IS innovative. I am just disgusted with the state of lobbying and campaign financing in the US. Some members of Congress are so incestuously funded by corporations, special interest groups, and lobbying groups that they might as well wear NASCAR jumpsuits to show who they really work for: https://www.nascar.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2018/09/COM-R16-MENCS-Playoffs-hero.jpg https://www.nascar.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2018/09/CO... Under that lens, a lobbying DAO is just another "patch" a politician could be wearing to show who sponsors them.
- djohnston 4y agoI agree, it's gross and corrupt. In order for regular citizens to seize control again, we either need blood in the streets of the power brokers, or to change the system peacefully from within. To achieve the latter, I think democratising access to the existing corrupt system is a promising idea.
