If this CEO is already dropping thousands of dollars on beach vacations trying to pretend it's client outreach, I have a sense they're probably one of "the bad ones" who don't really have a ton of ability to contextualize their own actions and how they'd be viewed by others. Much more likely they'd double down on their own megalomania (but this is a forum post on a website, so it's obviously hard to say.)
