Yeah this is a common and baffling problem with the cars that occurs to this day. Its become a meme at this point. There are loads of people that can help them out with this issue as it is a long solved problem(hence tons of consultants). It seems like the consensus is that cars coming out of Fremont will forever be a mess until the factory is torn down and completely rebuilt with modern design. In some prior Tesla talks employees discuss how the line is just poorly laid out in Fremont and that leads to bad lead times which result in rushing at certain stations. It was an abandoned Toyota/GM factory and is filled with hacks and bandages. I hear the Shangai cars are much better. Heres to hoping that they have considered this problem when designing the Texas and Berlin factories.
