If it’s not common, maybe it’s not common sense?
- astrange 4y agoIf you have to justify proposals with explicit reasoning (or conversely, if you're allowed to), then it's hard to reject them because they go against common sense, since it's hard to just say "my intuition told me this would be bad".
- slively 4y agoAgreed, of course so many reasoned conversations it seems like at some point have a moment of intuition because not everything can be known at the time. I think this is the stuff that makes engineering fun. That combination of well reasoned responses sprinkled with gut feeling and heuristics.
