Is there a clone of Standard Notes which includes basic plugins for free? I almost think it was a mistake to go with SN for self-hosted notes

- Daedren 4y agoYou can also self-host the Standard Notes extensions though.
- alexalx666 4y agoso their extensions are free if self-hosted?
- gnuj3 4y agonotesnook.com
- gigel82 4y agoNotesnook is not open source (you cannot self-host it, you must pay them). FWIW, Standard Notes is also very difficult to self host, though if you dig deep enough you can actually find the server and some outdated documentation. FWIW, I settled on https://github.com/zadam/trilium https://github.com/zadam/trilium which is very bare-bones but fully open source and self-hostable.
- alexalx666 4y agoyes SN was the hardest installation for me :D, Trilium looks good, will deff try it out, thanks!
- gnuj3 4y agoOn the Notesnook front page: > Open source zero knowledge private note taking
- gigel82 4y agoThat is a half-truth at best. Maybe the applications (viewers) are open source, but not the server (the thing that actually stores your notes). So you cannot self host it, which is what OP was talking about.
