Perhaps someone or a group of people should put up the money to keep this team going outside and independent of Facebook, maybe as some kind of "Responsible Social Media" non profit entity. It sounds like important work and without Facebook or some other for profit employer being able to control what they say, imagine the insights the rest of the community will be able to get. Something similar happened in Australia when an old climate change denying government dispanded the "Climate Commission" (a government department tasked with investigating climate change) to save face. The employees of that particular department packed up and left their office, got funding and now they're known as the non profit Climate Council.
