Most likely that, the message would be encoded in the paper's policy and the knowledge of what type of stories would be acceptable for publication. as somebody once said, most journalistic censorship is self-censorship. the fact that journalist himself is in 20% is irrelevant as its his bosses who finally decide what gets to your/mine eyeballs.
