- mdmglr 4y agoThis article glosses over the biggest (anti consumer) change to iPhone. The loss of the physical SIM card slot. The SIM card balanced the power between phone company and consumer. Allowing the consumer to switch carriers at will. eSIM will be like the CDMA carriers of the 90s to 2000s (Sprint/Verizon) where your phone is locked in. Carriers will undoubtedly add road blocks to make it as difficult as possible to link your eSIM from one network to the next.
