What is FeatureBase? The slogan "The First OLAP Database Built Entirely on Bitmaps" is barely parseable for this person after 20+ years in IT.

It is designed primarily for speed and horizontal scalability, and is particularly well-suited for workloads that require many real-time updates, inserts, and deletes on massive datasets. A binary index is an index that uses a binary search algorithm to find data. Binary indexes are typically used to speed up searches in large data sets. So, binary indexes are good for online data processing of large amounts of data. One way to think about a binary index is to consider "features" of data and storage of those feature "bits" in a streamlined storage format, built for ingestion and query performance.
