I have the previous AirPods Pro, and their noise cancellation is only so-so for general sounds while being unbelievably useless at filtering out the sounds of other people talking.
When I search for this "doesn't filter out other people talking" issue, I frequently read about how difficult that is. That is unbelievable to me, considering Sony WH-1000... seem to do this reasonably well. But more significantly, human voice is well within the range which can be reproduced in inverted phase. It must be an intentional choice by Apple to NOT cancel out speech sound.
This means that the current (soon previous) AirPods were completely useless for quieting colleagues or other train riders while the user is trying to work.
The big question is, did Apple fix this (intentional?) weakness with the new version?
