Working with programming languages you don't like
- sylware 4y agoThere are opinions, then absolute truths: for instance a plain and simple C compiler is abysmally (the word is fair) less complex than a c++ compiler, that only due to the syntax difference. That's a unquestionable truth: it is reasonable for an average skilled individual or a small team of such individuals to write a naive and simple C compiler while accounting for reasonable efforts, and it is _certainly_ not the case for a naive c++ compiler. That reason alone is sufficient to literally "black list" c++... don't worry, it is for a good reason. Personally, I favor plain and simple C (NOT compiling with gcc or clang ofc) with assembly (with a very conservative usage of the macro preprocessor... if any). Personally again, I would "deal" with c++ on non-essential stuff like video games (but expect plain and simple C and assembly ofc). This is "putting water in the wine", but where it is benign, so it is not perfect, but a good compromise.
