  Canada has adopted this ridiculousness even though food servers now earn minimum wage in Ontario.

    Almost all states in the US have minimum wage for tipped service workers, too. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/state/minimum-wage/tipped https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/state/minimum-wage/tipped Of course, very convenient to state that they don't, or that the "owner" doesn't pay them the mandated difference if their tips don't add up to minimum wage, etc.

      In Canada the min wage is 15 for anyone, tips are extra on top.
