- srvmshr 4y agoIs this an official archival page from some foundation set up by the Jobs family / Apple or a fan made webpage? I didn't see any further information.
- jmccarthy 4y agoLooks official! Launched by family & friends: https://www.theverge.com/2022/9/7/23342222/steve-jobs-archive-website-launch https://www.theverge.com/2022/9/7/23342222/steve-jobs-archiv...
- spearo77 4y agoIt seems like a family-backed project – https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ca/201533410035 https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ca/201533410035 Although Laurene Powell Jobs was only added as an officer last year.
- rancar2 4y agoLaurene Powell Jobs, Jony Ive, Tim Cook, and others team up to launch the ‘Steve Jobs Archive’. For more context about the project: https://9to5mac.com/2022/09/07/steve-jobs-archive/ https://9to5mac.com/2022/09/07/steve-jobs-archive/
- jonwinstanley 4y agoThose scroll based animations are really nice. The UI feels fun to use.
- LeoPanthera 4y agoI had no idea this was an official site until Tim Cook tweeted about it just now: https://twitter.com/tim_cook/status/1567739003650048000 https://twitter.com/tim_cook/status/1567739003650048000
- cat_plus_plus 4y agoNice, but insincere in that it doesn't recognize that Steve Jobs was an abusive jerk who wouldn't recognize his own daughter. Maybe a very necessary jerk who benefited humanity tremendously by pushing people into doing wonderful things that otherwise would not have been done any time soon. And maybe he became a better human being later on in his life. Still, fiction is not the best tribute to someone about whom many great things can already be said.
- jbverschoor 4y agoTo me or more reads like someone trying to deal with his god-complex or something.
- jbverschoor 4y agoJust saw the actual speech with this text. Sounds totally positive like that. The e-mail at first looked like some sort of daily affirmations.

- NetOpWibby 4y agoI’m sure his widow and best friends will get right on that. /s
- toomim 4y agoThat doesn't make it "insincere." It just means that the creators of this archive have different priorities than you. I doubt that the people who hate Steve Jobs are willing to make something called "The Steve Jobs Archive", anyway.
- cat_plus_plus 4y agoI don't hate Steve Jobs, it just doesn't do justice to him, as a real life great and flawed person, to portray him as Dalai Lama.

- marban 4y agoThey use LoveFrom, Serif — so Jony Ive's shop is behind the production.
- lawgimenez 4y agoI’m confused why email to yourself? Is this a practice from somewhere I need to be aware of?
- juliendorra 4y agoMany people (used?) to do that as reminders. It was a cross device solution too when there’s was not that many simple, instant ways to share todos between devices. So, an habit inherited from a time before app/web apps that sync and are in constant connection.
- cookie_monsta 4y agoSure, I still do that, just for quick reminders and sometimes to move files from my phone to desktop if I don't have a cable handy. I know there's all sorts of reminder/ notes apps available, but why sign up for yet another account when email does the job?
- lawgimenez 4y agoThis makes sense. Thanks I think I should look into this habit closely.
- bhupy 4y agoMy wife keeps an ongoing email draft to herself with her to-do lists; she’s been doing it for the last 10+ years. She’s aware that there are now better solutions for this, but it’s a force of habit and it works pretty well for her.
