I've also had problems with switching devices at times, notably with certain Mac apps that would stay connected (sending silent audio?) and prevent them from switching to the other device. But this seems to have been resolved with recent macOS updates (or maybe app updates?), and I haven't had the issue for a while. In any case, any occasional pain caused by multiple device connections is vastly less than the pain of having to manually switch devices... every. single. time. I had the XM3s before, which had no multiple device support, and it was horrible!
