Apple Unveils Apple Watch Ultra with Large-Screen Design for Athletes
- hnburnsy 4y agoUntil they do something about battery life I don't see how Garmin watch users would bother switching. Apple Watch Ultra... >The battery life can reach 36 hours of battery life. There will be a new battery optimization feature as well coming later this fall. With this setting on, you can reach 60 hours of battery life. From Garmin... >Luckily for you, Garmin watch batteries last a long time — and we mean a long time. At minimum, you should be getting up to 5 days of battery life before having to recharge, and at maximum you could be getting up to 50 days. (No, that is not a typo – the Garmin Enduro™ boasts up to 50 days in smartwatch mode — or 65 if you’re using solar charging.) https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/general/how-long-will-my-garmin-smartwatch-battery-last/ https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/general/how-long-will-my-g...
- zimpenfish 4y ago> [Garmin] up to 5 days of battery life before having to recharge I've not used my Fenix for a while but I'm pretty sure that 5 days is only in standby mode (and if I'm not mistaken, the GPS is largely off) - you don't get 5 days of active use in full-on GPS tracking workout mode. Oh, yes, as the link says: "It’s important to know that this chart only depicts smartwatch mode." Bit shady using those numbers against the Apple Watch which is very much more active than a Garmin in Smartwatch mode.
- poulsbohemian 4y agoAs someone who is often in rural areas with questionable or no mobile signal, the crash detection and improved tracking features are appealing - but my assumption is they require a signal. In this regard, I'm excited to see what T-Mobile + Starlink could do in combo with this new watch.
- poulsbohemian 4y agoWell, guess all I had to do was wait a few minutes for them to make the announcement...
