The second ruling is in: Motion Denied! For Musk's request to reargue the reargument. And a note of censure from the chancellor. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22276120-decision-denying-defendants-motion-for-reargument-twitter-v-musk https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22276120-decision-de...
It looks good for Musk owning twitter. He's annoyed the chancellor multiple times, and probably lost her respect. And now he has to pivot his case to Mudge, while sticking to the original, already very tight court schedule. It's going to be rough on $TSLA if he still has to sell $30B into this economy.
- andrewdb 4y agoNot only is the trial schedule not changed, but Chancellor McCormick also made it clear she had little patience for expansive discovery for the whistleblower points. She is only allowing targeted, incremental discovery for these new additions to the case. If Musk starts making sweeping document requests based on this, she's going to be quite unhappy. Yes, Musk won the point of including the Mudge disclosures, but he has to prove them with little to no discovery on a breakneck timeline. That's a hand tied behind his back. I see this as a win for Twitter overall.
