Show HN: Create tiny and beautiful CVs with ease
Tinycv it's a perfect tool when your experience and some links are enough to
fill your cv. No signup is required - and it's completely free. All CVs last
for 60 days, after that they self-destruct in the deep abyss of outdated cvs.
Try it, it's simple & fun!
- pplonski86 4y agoThe website looks great! Congrats! What is your goal with the project? What tech stack have you used?
- vangeltzoo 4y agoRoR hosted in Heroku, and some plain js & css :). As far as the goal, I consider this project as a side hustle done mostly for fun. I believe although it has some potential providing a way to create & share asap a "tiny" version of any cv.
- quickthrower2 4y agoA paid option to convert to a traceroute cv would be good! just kidding of course!
- quickthrower2 4y agoNice! Does “open :fire:” mean open the CV or open for work?
- vangeltzoo 4y ago"open for work" - the emoji/wording might be not so clear ... noted
- noni83 4y agoLove the IT crowd reference
- vangeltzoo 4y agoMy first thought was to use only ITcrowd characters for the homepage, but it wasn't fair for other sitcoms :)
- iamandras 4y agoI created one, just for fun. Site looks great and UX is good.
- Madeindjs 4y agoImpressive design. Bravo
- mariorojas 4y agoreally like the idea, congrats!
- matthewwolfe 4y agoOne thing to consider (if it doesn’t exist already) is to allow exporting via json or some format, in a way that it can be reuploaded in the future. I made a resume builder for myself awhile ago, and my favorite feature is that I can save all the content as a json file and then import it whenever I want to make changes or change the CV theme. Overall looks nice though!
- vangeltzoo 4y agonice thought!
- slimebot80 4y agoHey I like this, but I wasn't quite sure of a use case from the homepage. Is it something I download? Something I embed?
- vangeltzoo 4y agotrue, homepage doesn't clarify that it generates a dedicated page with your own cv to share
- swah 4y agoIs the sample there the end result that I'm getting?
- vangeltzoo 4y agoI suppose you were expecting something more :P
- swah 4y agoYeah - it looks great but CV = a PDF for me.... :)
