Netflix settles ‘Queen’s Gambit’ defamation suit
- torstenvl 4y agoHer only reputation is as a public figure, and the only alleged defamation concerns her status as a public figure. I didn't read the pleadings but the judge's ruling (that led to the settlement) seems odd based on the reporting.
- lesuorac 4y agoSure maybe she'll lose in court but if your motion to dismiss is based on the idea that you can categorized something as fictional and claim whatever you want you're going to have that motion denied. The court didn't say she'd win they only said that they're not 100% sure she'd lose and so allowed the lawsuit to remain.
