The belief is that people are not as productive at home (with distractions etc). WFH 100% may not necessarily be a win for workers. It might consolidate to short-term project-based contracting that can be stressful to deliver. When you work from office, if it doesn’t work, well, at least you are at work trying! Of course, you might still be responsible, but perhaps that’s slightly better than assuming responsibility at home (if it doesn’t work, you are not working on it).
