- User23 4y agoIt’s remarkable how SBCL has basically surpassed its parent CMUCL. I recall when the project was first starting a number of performance optimizations were sacrificed because the code was hard to understand and would only compile with a sufficiently recent version of CMUCL. Last I knew you could compile SBCl from source using an interpreter like CLISP.
