This makes me very glad that I switched my self-hosted password manager from Bitwarden to Vaultwarden. It implements the Bitwarden Server API so I can still use the same client applications. I strongly suspect that this new VC-funded Bitwarden will eventually close off their applications API and client applications, but with an open-source server API provided by Vaultwarden it should be possible to create new, open-source clients, too.
