Living in Switzerland, these are very attractive, and I really hope they help night trains become a completely viable alternative to medium-length trips.
(Last time I checked they were so-so in terms of price for let's say Zurich<->Hamburg. Quite expensive even for a shared couchette, only becomes comparable in price to a cheap flight when you buy a seat only.)
- newaccount74 4y agoThey are very attractive if you compare the price with flight + hotel room. Usually when I go to conferences, I need to fly on the day before. With night trains, I can sleep on the train and arrive in the morning, with enough time to get a good breakfast. Of course, a little less well rested, but the time savings is nice.
- ThePadawan 4y agoAh yes, that comparison makes sense. For me, the alternative is staying with family, so it's less clear-cut.
