If you relied on others, did you take something out of it other than their answer? Did you pick up how they attacked the problem in a different way? That's how you evolve. Just observe :) Ask them how they found a way, when you couldn't. If the problem is too obscure, I 'just' rebuild the system like I imagined it. But I don't think everyone is as suited to this form of tackling problems. You might get more enjoyment out of creating new things?
