I looked into using a hyperbolic browser for a semantic graph UI over a decade ago. I aborted because the hyperbolic view seemed very patent encumbered. I agree that hyperbolic views are amazing, but has the patent situation changed?
- lamping 4y agoWe filed the basic patents in 1994. Given a 20 year patent lifetime, they should have expired by now.
