It's been shown time and time again that people are willing to endure economic hardship if it leads to the *continued survival of humanity*. Legitimately the only entities that wouldn't make this calculation are corporations, whose sole modum operandi is increasing profits at the expense of anything else
- isthisthingon99 4y agoI'm not sure how your linked page shows that humans are willing to endure economic hardship for humanity's survival. It simply says that as more efficiency is achieved, and thus lower cost, the resource is used more. What did I miss?
- SQueeeeeL 4y agoReducing energy costs will always lead to increase consumption, the only way to achieve a reduction in the use of resources is to increase it's cost.
- isthisthingon99 4y agoThat still doesn't give any sort of credence to your statement that people are willing to endure economic hardship to ensure humanity's survival. Survival of their family, sure, but even that is to a limit.
