What a coincidence! Configuring similar setup has been my main project for the last several weeks. I got tired of having separate pinboard/google keep/calibre/zotero/nvalt collections of documents and now moving to emacs and org-mode with similar usage of org-attach. Notes dir under syncthing. Org-attach tree is managed with git-annex (copies to external hdds & S3-like cloud storage). For search I'm using notdeft with xapian backend right now.
- kkfx 4y agoYou might like then recoll, wrapped via consuel-recoll/consult-recoll etc to have direct full text search with solr backend :-) I think a handful of people independently and not aware with others do such path anyway because that's a natural IT evolution, the issue is popolarize it enough to get a mainstream solution. Org-roam for instance get popular because the search&narrow model, anywhere you go is another natural evolution, but so far most are still stuck in basic notes, not going much further in "org-mode integration power", even after having seen examples like https://youtu.be/B6jfrrwR10k https://youtu.be/B6jfrrwR10k witch is a bit sad... I think we miss usenet where discussion happen NOT ONLY between similar cohort, isolated groups (like Reddit as the topmost example of the trend) but much between "neighbor" distant communities witch is the key to spread and boost ideas, the Albert-László Barabási "how to find a job" example extended to "how to grow any idea"...
