Hard disagree. You can now buy a cable that works with everything. That's amazing. Sure the labelling and capability spread is a nightmare to deal with if you want to make sure you can do high wattage charging or high bandwidth data transfer, but it's still much much much better than back in the day when everything had it's own proprietary cable. If you have a big pile of shoddy cables throw them all out and buy a bunch of the same brand that you know works in bulk. Problem solved. It's not that bad.
