Classic restaurant and cars analogies don't work mostly. While traveling around the world I find 'comparable' restaurants to be 'comparably' priced. I just returned from a country with a GDP per capita four times lower compared to the one I live in now. Yet prices in restaurants in downtown or hotel room only around 30% cheaper. Iphones, laptops are cheaper in US that basically everywhere.
