They aren't innovating because they're working on problems that were solved a decade ago in the game industry I feel that is applicable to much more of FAANG than Facebook now that I think about it. Steam somehow still seems to be a better storefront than Google Play, the Apple app store, and Amazon combined; despite coming from a company having a tenth of the resources and a management structure that pretty much boils down to "YOLO". And lets not even talk about the fact that the performance of your average webapp still pales in comparison to the most trash optimized of 2005 flash games
