They may be true. But I assure you. Before the internet, for every person there was at least another person who would have thought almost everything about them was awful. Sadly now everyone can experience this thanks to the wide spread of the internet. But the underlying process of just living your life despite or in willful ignorance of your detractors is still possible. It’s like how society just might cease if we all had to walk around nude all the time with no exceptions. Privacy is a pillar.
