I have to think that this is pure click-bait. I know a lot of people who love their ebikes and now do lots of things (shopping, dropping kids off at school, going to friends' houses) that they otherwise would have done in a car. Especially where I live in California which is so car-centric. I agree that ebikes are relatively new and they are clunky and heavy and imperfect. But they certainly also feel like a revolution.
