I agree, and it would also make it easier on teachers in university; its a royal pain dealing with students who aren't really interested, but are merely seeking a certificate of some kind so they can get a decent job. Most plumbers don't need to be theoretical experts in hydraulics and pneumatics; but there certainly is time when such expertise is called for.
