I miss floppy disks. They were fun.

Installing things that were spread across 30 floppies wasn't fun though:(

... a fact that helped prevent bloat.

The last Visual Studio that I had to install from floppies needed to be transported in a couple of sturdy shopping bags - something definitely had to give. Maybe p-code would have got a second wind to reduce the amount of space software binaries needed, but as it was CDs rode in to rescue us (and bloat!)

True. Please insert next disk. But trying to fit things on them was fun. Was a fun way to learn dd and how boot sectors work. And what new technology can double capacity with a hole puncher? None I tell ya.
