Is IMDB Deleting 1-Star Reviews of "The Rings of Power"?

• jdshaffer 4y ago
It appears that IMDB is hiding or deleting reviews under 5/10 for Amazon's new "Lord of the Rings" series. Several people are reporting their own reviews have now disappeared as well... EDIT -- Edited the Title for a bit more clarity.

For those who don't know, it should be mentioned that Amazon owns IMDb. That said, removing 1-star reviews is not uncommon for shows that may get review-bombed. Metacritic and Rottentomatoes have both had to deal with it for movies/shows with... "zealous"... fans.

Just to continue the discussion. I personally see no problem deleting 1-star "review-bombed" reviews. But to remove 4-star reviews (and others) as well? It seems very odd...

It's a tricky one. If you buy a broom and it is a good broom you will give it a review of 10. But where you are expressing a personal preference, shouldn't 10 be reserved for the best thing you have every seen? And 1 for the worst (of course there is never a zero). Then your votes would average out at 5. But folks are never going to get that idea, which is why these sites will never work.
