My PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD does 7GB/s for bursts up to ~700GB at a time (SLC cache) which is very convenient when I'm moving video around. You can also get x8 and x16 data center SSDs. PCIe 5.0 SSDs should come out next month and double that.
